Alec Carrillo is a composer, saxophonist, and improviser based in Miami, FL. His compositions explore ideas of perception and introspection, focusing on repetition and gradual change. Drawing from electronic soundscapes and avant-garde aesthetics, his acoustic writing balances timbral complexity with contemporary approaches to harmony.
Alec has had several premiers during his time as a student at Florida State University. In the Polymorphia New Music ensemble's 2025 call for scores, his composition erased (2024) was selected as a finalist and programmed. He has composed for the university's saxophone orchestra as well as the premier jazz ensemble.
